Wine and history

Romania, located in east Europe, near the Black Sea, has about 22.000.000 habitants on a surface of about 237.500 SqKm (= 91.700 SqMiles).



One of the few countrys having still his own local grapes, such as: Feteasca Alba, Regala or Neagra and Babeasca neagra.

Wine, grapes, vineyards, culture and more ...

Romania is one of the largest wine producers (9th) with more than 600.000 tonnes of wine/year.
Introduced by the Greeks, some 4.000 years ago, in Dacia (present day Romania), arriving from the Black Sea.
The most famous wine producing regions are Moldavia, Transylvania and Valachia, with famous places as Cotnari, Dealu Mare, Murfatlar etc...
